Councillors will consider plans for listed building consent at a planning meeting on Thursday, July 23 at the Guildhall.

The proposals include internal improvements to the first-floor galleries of the Grade II* listed Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.

The upgrades would mostly involve minor internal changes, including new wall panelling, frameless glass doors and a new store cupboard.

Work would also include air conditioning upgrades in several galleries, including the main art and watercolour spaces.

A planning statement said: “The proposal provides a number of positive opportunities for enhancement, and enables the continued use of the space for public exhibitions.

“Many of these changes would involve the removal and renewal of redundant services, replacing units with those of a more discreet size and appearance.”
