York boxer Atang made his American debut when fighting on the undercard of Diego Pacheco vs Immanuwel Aleem on Saturday evening, as the 19-year-old continued to steamroll past his latest opponents.
It’s now wins over Milen Paunov, Cristian Uwaka, Baba Yusuf, Amine Boucetta, Dan Garber, Viktar Chvarkou, Fouad Shaili and Williams, with Atang continuing to make a name for himself in the boxing world.
Fighting at Dignity Health Sports Park in California, Atang forced the stoppage in round two against Williams, with referee Ray Armendariz waving off the fight with the latter hurt.

Some early heavy hits and uppercuts from Atang had the pair head into round two with the 19-year-old in control, and he secured the win when pinning Williams against the ropes.
A clean left hook was added to by a barrage of punches from Atang, and with Williams struggling to throw anything back, Armendariz made the call.
Atang is trained by Head Coach Ashley Martin at Legion’s Boxing Gym, and is regarded as one of boxing’s most exciting prospects.
Speaking to The Press after the fight, Martin said on Atang’s latest win: “The full team is buzzing with Leo after this latest victory.
“His best performance to date to cap off his first 12 months as a professional.
“At the start of the week it wasn’t even known if the fight was going to happen due to a delay in his passport coming back from the US embassy, to then be flown out much later in the week than anticipated, facing the jet lag, and the heat, he had a lot going against him.
“The fight itself was brilliant. Giving away 40lb in weight against a golden gloves winner, he took the fight in his stride.
“Applying everything we’ve been working on in the gym, he took the much bigger man apart inside two rounds, and impressed the American audience.
“It’s been great getting him this exposure across the pond, and we look forward to his next outing after a much deserved break for the rest the summer!

“Harrison Barker is making his debut on July 25th at Doncaster Dome, and Brad Casey fights at the first direct in Leeds on August 8th.”
