This Saturday’s bout between two-division champion Stephen Fulton Jr. and two-time world title challenger Liam Wilson has been officially elevated to co-main event and is also now a WBA world title eliminator, with the winner earning the right to challenge WBA junior lightweight champion, Anthony Cacace.
Fulton Jnr, 23-2 (8 KOs), of Philadelphia and Australia’s Wilson, 18-3 (10 KOs), will now meet over 12 rounds in the fight preceding the Errol Spence Jnr.-Tim Tszyu main event from Afterpay Arena in Sydney, Australia on Saturday, July 25.
Presented by No Limit Boxing, The Rose Brothers, Man Down Promotions and TGB Promotions, the Fulton Jnr-Wilson fight was designated the night’s co-main event after Jermall Charlo’s scheduled bout against Koen Mazoudier was removed from the card due to issues obtaining his visa.
Fulton Jnr gave up his WBC featherweight championship shortly after moving up in weight to lose a 12-round unanimous decision to WBC junior-lightweight champ O’Shaquie Foster in December 2025. Fulton was originally supposed to be challenging for Foster’s junior lightweight belt but weighed in two pounds over the limit. The WBC then agreed to instead sanction the bout for their interim lightweight championship.
Wilson was stopped in seven rounds by Oscar Valdez in a fight for the WBO Interim World junior-lightweight championship in March 2024 and, although he dropped Emanuel Navarrete in the fourth round, was ultimately dropped and stopped in the ninth round for the vacant WBO World junior-lightweight title in 2023.
Two-time world champion Cacace won his title via unanimous decision over Jazza Dickens in March.
