Kate Bush fans are being invited to don their finest red dresses and recreate one of music’s most iconic dance routines as a much-loved event returns this weekend.
With Emily Brontë’s Wuthering Heights back in the spotlight following the recent film adaptation starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, there may never be a better time to celebrate the song that introduced generations of fans to the gothic classic.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever is set to take over Folkestone Harbour Arm, bringing together hundreds of ‘Cathys’ for a mass performance inspired by the singer’s unforgettable 1978 hit.
The free event has become one of the county’s quirkiest annual gatherings, with participants dressing as the singer in her flowing red outfit before recreating the dance moves from the famous music video.
Running from 11am until 6pm, the celebration welcomes everyone from lifelong fans to complete beginners, with organisers encouraging visitors to join in or enjoy the spectacle.
The event is part of a worldwide phenomenon inspired by performance collective Shambush, with gatherings now taking place across the globe, including Australia, Canada and the Netherlands.

Now in its sixth year, it’s expected to be more popular than ever after Emerald Fennell’s bold adaptation of Brontë’s book, starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.
The blockbuster hit cinemas in February and even featured a slice of Kent, with Knole Park in Sevenoaks used as one of the filming locations.
New for 2026, the dance zone is moving to a bigger spot due to the sheer volume of people who previously attended.
Instead of taking place by the lighthouse, the area is moving slightly further down the harbour arm to near the giant seagull sculpture.

There will be a warm-up at 10am in The Goods Yard and the official dances will be held in the new location at 12pm and 4pm.
Participants and spectators can also expect musical performances from the KT Bush Band and a DJ set from Dolly Doowop.
For anyone worried they don’t know the choreography, rehearsal sessions will be taking place in the lead-up to the event, so you have a chance to master the routine before the big event.
The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever takes place at Folkestone Harbour Arm on Sunday, July 26, from 11am to 6pm. Entry is free.
