The new adventure golf course experience has been created with children, families, and first-time golfers in mind, offering something different to visitors so they don’t have to travel for it.
Safari Falls Adventure Golf has opened at Regent Park Golf Centre, featuring an 18-hole safari-themed course with volcano features, waterfalls, and streams.
Owner Robin Day said: “Building it has certainly been the most fun I’ve had in 35 years in Bolton.
“And I hope, and I’m sure, that more families will have fun here for generations to come.”
The attraction was officially opened by the Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Mohammed Iqbal, following a seven-and-a-half-month construction project.
Cllr Anne Galloway, of Heaton, Lostock & Chew Moor, said: “This adventure golf course will be a great fun outing for families – an hour or two playing golf in the safari surroundings and a popular club house for a lunch and drinks afterwards.
“We’re lucky to have this attraction on our doorstep in Lostock.
Golf officials say the course forms part of Regent Park Golf Centre’s continued investment in creating activities for people of all ages.
Mr Day said the development was designed to open up access to golf and encourage more families and children to get involved.
He said: “In that time we’re trying to open access to people, get families involved, children involved and open the game to people in the borough.”

The owner also said the project helped bring “fun back into the game” and described Safari Falls as something he hoped would be enjoyed for many years.
The opening event saw families try out the course, including Phil, who visited with children Harley, Vicky, and Henry.
Phil said: “To be fair, there’s nothing like this anywhere else.
“You’ve got to go to Trafford for something on that scale.”
The family said the new attraction would provide a closer option for people wanting to enjoy adventure golf together.

Cllr Iqbal said the attraction was a welcome addition to the borough and praised the investment behind it.
He said: “It is especially encouraging to see business continue to invest in facilities like bringing families together, encouraging people to be active and attracting visitors from across the North West.”
The Mayor added that developments like Safari Falls helped showcase Bolton as a place to visit and support local businesses.

Mr Day also thanked the teams involved in creating the course, including the construction company, designers, and Regent Park staff who helped bring the project to life.
His company has been investing in Bolton for 35 years of investment in Bolton by including 25 years at Regent Park Golf Centre.
Mr Day said more than 5,000 trees had been planted during that time, but Safari Falls marked the first time he had planted palm trees in Bolton.
