Multiple crashes are causing delays across North Wales today. Drivers have been warned to expect disruption as a result of the collisions.

Speed restrictions are also currently in place on the A55 between Llandudno and Llanfairfechan due to the volume of traffic. A Traffic Wales spokesperson said: “Due to the high volume of traffic in the area, 50mph speed restrictions have been implemented and we will begin to release traffic in batches through the tunnels.”

Several crashes have also taken place across the day. At 1.50pm, Traffic Wales warned drivers that a vehicle had overturned on the A55 eastbound between Llandudno and Glan Conwy. Delays built up while the vehicle was recovered, and the road was cleared at about 3pm.

Elsewhere, there is also a lot of disruption around the A499 near Clynnogfawr in Gwynedd due to a crash, compounded by a vehicle that “has become stuck in Trefor”.

The A496 was also blocked between Harlech and Llanfair as a result of a crash, before reopening at around 2pm. In Wrexham, the A525 Whitchurch to Wrexham road at Eglwys Cross was closed in both directions due to a crash. The air ambulance was in attendance, before flying to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

The road reopened at around 2pm.

On the A483 at Johnstown, a vehicle overturned this morning. It led to long delays on the northbound carriageway. A police spokesperson said: “The A483 Northbound near junction 2 (Gyfelia) is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.

“Please avoid the area until further notice. Thank you for your patience.” The crash has now been cleared.
