Everybody wants to write a hit until they do; while bands like Radiohead, Yes, Aerosmith and more have all had classic rock hits, those same songs have also spelt out their demise.
For a lot of people, writing a hit song can help get their name on people’s tongues and give them a good platform to build on. Then you have other acts where a hit song either sets the bar too high, or gives fans one track to latch onto without ever exploring anything else the artist puts out.
