Fans of the hit detective series The Crow Girl will be disappointed when the drama ends tonight.

The psychological thriller, which is adapted from the Scandinavian bestseller by Erik Axl Sund, has been airing on Channel 5 for the last two weeks.

The drama, which was filmed in Bristol, first aired on Paramount+ in January 2025, but was brought to Channel 5 viewers for the very first time in July.

The Crow Girl has a star-studded cast, including Welsh actors Eve Myles as DCI Jeanette Kilburn and Charles Dale as her dad, Brian Cole. Acting alongside them is Katherine Kelly, Dougray Scott, Victoria Hamilton, Lee Boardman, Chloé Sweetlove, and Elliot Edusah. You can see the cast list in full here.

Hailed a “masterpiece” by those who watched it last year, The Crow Girl centres on DCI Jeanette Kilburn (Eve Myles) and partner DI Lou Stanley (Dougray Scott) as they pursue a killer following the discovery of unidentified young men’s bodies across Bristol.

Jeanette and her team work to uncover the links between the murders while she seeks assistance from prime suspect Carl Lowry’s psychotherapist, Dr Sophia Craven (Katherine Kelly), who provides a new yet unsettling viewpoint on the investigation.

However, the six-part series will come to an end on Channel 5 on Wednesday, July 29, which will leave many viewers keen to know where and when they can watch season 2. Here’s everything you need to know.

Those keen to watch season two are in luck, as the second series is now available to stream on Paramount+. In an unusual move, season two started on Paramount+ at the same time season one launched on Channel 5.

The second season aired on Paramount+ 18 months after the first dropped on the streaming service. It has not been announced whether the second season will also air on Channel 5.

The official synopsis for The Crow Girl season two reads: “As Jeanette digs deeper, Dr. Sophia Craven begins to suspect Victoria Burkeman, her mysterious former patient, could be responsible.

“As Jeanette and Sophia’s relationship becomes increasingly complex and emotionally charged, the case places their trust and judgement under strain.”

It’s unlikely there’ll be a third series. While Paramount+ has not said either way whether there will be a season three, The Crow Girl is based on the bestselling novel by Erik Axl Sund, and the second season caught up with the book.

This is despite the fact that The Crow Girl is based on a trilogy of books, The Crow Girl, The Hunger Fire and The Pythia’s Instructions, although the English translation combines them all into one massive read.

The Crow Girl season one will conclude on Wednesday, July 29 at 9pm on Channel 5.
