Signature at Hornchurch opened its doors with a celebration attended by the Mayor of Havering, councillors, community support officers, residents and members of the public.
The event featured speeches from the Mayor of Havering, Signature Senior Lifestyle CEO Rob Martin and general manager Catherine Komuhangi, alongside refreshments, a jazz band and guided tours of the new facility.

Mr Martin said: “It was fantastic to officially open Signature at Hornchurch and welcome so many people through our doors. We have been looking forward to becoming part of the Hornchurch community and the incredible turnout showed just how supportive and welcoming the local area is.”

During the celebration, future resident Hillary Wood was surprised with a cake and a rendition of Happy Birthday to mark her 84th birthday.
Her daughter, Phillipa Wood, said: “We have reassurance; we don’t need to worry anymore and we can enjoy just being with mum.”
Catherine Komuhangi, General Manager at Signature at Hornchurch, said:”It was wonderful to see so many local people, residents and families joining us to celebrate this special milestone. Seeing everyone enjoying the home together reflected exactly the kind of welcoming, vibrant community we are creating here.”
