The 36-hole medal competition, for players with a handicap index of 12.0 or lower, was held on July 26.
Despite the sunny conditions, strong winds challenged the golfers throughout the day.
Croft, who returned a score of 76 in the afternoon, found himself in a tie with Mathew Wharldall from Rudding, both having a total score of 150 after 36 holes.
This led to a sudden death play-off on the par-4 18th hole.
Both players’ approach shots landed near each other at the back of the green, but Wharldall’s putt rolled down the slope and onto the front of the green.
Croft successfully holed out for a birdie 3, securing the victory.
Croft was declared the winner of the Ogden Trophy, with Wharldall finishing as the runner-up.
Kevin Parker from Thirsk secured third place.
Richard Fawcett from Thirsk, who scored a 75, won the prize for the best morning 18 holes, while Brook Coward from Skipton won the prize for the best afternoon round with the same score.
