A fight in the High Street led to three men being jailed for a combined total of nearly six and a half years.
Kisra Karime, 26, of Oakleaigh Avenue, Southend, Mohammed Fatah, 29, of London Road, Westcliff, and Ali Maulood, 37, of Park Terrace, Westcliff, were sentenced in July after the incident.
Detective Constable Ryan Gibbs, from Southend CID, said: “This incident happened in a public place at a time when a lot of people would have been around.
“This type of incident is completely unacceptable and we will not tolerate it.
“I am pleased our investigation has held these three men accountable and they have faced justice.”
The fight took place on February 8 last year.
Police were called to reports of a fight on the High Street at around 5.30pm.
Two men were found at the scene with serious injuries.
CCTV footage captured the entire incident and helped officers identify those involved.
All three were arrested on March 12 and later charged.
At Basildon Crown Court on June 19, Karime and Fatah admitted to GBH with intent while Maulood pleaded guilty to affray.
They were sentenced at the same court on July 24.
