ITV has unveiled a new conceptual trailer for Emmerdale ahead of the much-anticipated wedding of Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley) and Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) later this month.
It’s already been a dramatic few weeks for the characters, with Joe becoming aware of her brief kiss with ex-hubby Billy (Jay Kontzle). He was reluctant to believe that she’d betray him, and just hours later, Billy was brutally attacked and placed into a coma.
We’re still yet to find out who was responsible, though Joe has been allowed to leave the police station.
Dawn is now caught in what the soap describes as an “emotional tug-of-war”, unsure of what to believe and ultimately, who she wants to spend the rest of her life with.
To make matters even more complicated, she’s expecting Joe’s baby.

In tomorrow’s (Tuesday 4 August) episode, the stakes rise when Dawn learns that doctors are planning to bring Billy round. She desperately hopes that he’ll be able to identify the person who assaulted him and clear Joe’s name.
Will Billy remember anything?
A new trailer shows Dawn in a candlelit room, staring into a mirror. She’s dressed in wedding attire, and an ominous squelching sound signals her vanishing.
When she reappears, Billy and Joe are stood either side of her shoulder. She glances at them both before they too disappear, and when she peers back at the vanity table, the glass has smashed.
When the camera swaps its angle, Dawn is no longer wearing her white dress.

Teasing what lies ahead, Emmerdale’s series producer Laura Shaw, said: “The run up to Dawn and Joe’s wedding will be far from straightforward but the week of the wedding is even more dramatic!
“The day will end in tragedy with the consequences having ramifications that will impact the villagers’ lives for years to come.”
What could this mean? As with most soap weddings, they never go to plan. Watch this space!
