Blue Bloods star Will Estes is set to reprise his role as Jamie Reagan in the second run of spin-off series Boston Blue, star and executive producer Donnie Wahlberg has confirmed.

Wahlberg announced the news on his Instagram story, posting a behind-the-scenes photo alongside his long-time co-star and other star of the spin-off accompanied by the caption “Welcome (back) to the family! Jamie Reagan! AKA Will Estes!”

Estes starred as Jamie – the brother of Wahlberg’s lead character Danny Reagan – across all 14 seasons of the police procedural from 2010 and 2024, but this will be his first appearance in the spin-off since its launch last year.

He won’t be the first star of the original series to briefly pop up in Boston Blue, with Bridget Moynahan, Len Cariou and Will Hochman all having reprised their roles as various members of the Reagan family in the first run.

It’s not been made clear at this stage how substantial Estes’s role in the season will be, although Deadline has reported that it will just be for a single episode.
