Wigan Warriors comfortable leaders in latest Super League attendance figures despite Wakefield v Leeds sell-out

The attendances are in for the latest round of Super League action, with just one side hitting a five-figure crowd number.

That was Wigan Warriors, who despite having no away fans to boost the number, racked up a crowd of almost 17,000 in their 48-18 victory over Toulouse Olympique.

Wigan led 24-18 at half-time, before a second-half onslaught gave them a comfortable victory over the French side.

Two fixtures came close to reaching 10,000, with St Helens v Hull FC just 90 fans away from that target. It would be an evening to forget to the Red Vee, whose attendance has taken a dip following their poor form this season.

Wakefield Trinity’s top-of-the-table clash against Leeds Rhinos was a sell-out, and rightly so given the magnitude of the game.

A late Chris Hankinson try levelled the game at the death, before Jake Connor’s conversion on the hooter saw Leeds snatch the win and strengthen their League Leaders’ Shield hopes.

Huddersfield Giants hit their highest home attendance since June 2018, also against Catalans where again free tickets were on offer. Just over 9,000 were in attendance thar day, whilst a slightly smaller number took to the Accu Stadium this weekend, as the club revealed their plans to move to Dewsbury’s FLAIR Stadium for 2027 and beyond.
