Nyendra will represent Bhutan with the song Lhayi Semo

The inaugural edition of Rhythm of Bhutan has produced its very first winner! A vote that extended all across the globe has selected Nyendra as the champion; the artist that will sing for Bhutan at the Eurovision Song Contest Asia 2026.

In the two-hour National Selection Show broadcast locally and on the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel, five songs were performed by established Bhutanese talents.

Broadcaster BBS, as well as the five competing acts, were enthusiastic about showcasing Bhutanese music on a brand-new international stage. And for viewers this was an extra bonus to enjoy in addition to the main purpose of Rhythm of Bhutan, which was to find the nation’s song for Bangkok 2026.

And Bhutan now has its song!

The scores came from three sources. A professional jury accounted for 40% of the points, while viewers voting at home in Bhutan contributed another 40%. The remaining 20% came from a Rest of the World vote.

Nyendra will perform Lhayi Semo (‘The Angel’) at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia in Bangkok, on Saturday 14 November.

In second place after the vote was The Sangay Lhaden Band performing Pemi Tshewang Tashi and finishing in third was Baeyul301 with the song Drenpa.
