The former Coronation Street actress will be starring in The Woods, a new adaptation of bestselling author Harlan Coben’s 2007 novel.
The eight-part series, which has been filming in Knutsford, was written by Danny Brocklehurst, who previously adapted Coben’s Fool Me Once and Run Away.
The writer said he’s excited to explore the sibling dynamic that is at the centre of The Woods.

Playing the lead role of Paul Copeland, or Cope, in the new series is Tom Bateman, from The Love Hypothesis and Hedda.
Keegan, who appeared in Fool Me Once and Brassic, will star alongside him as Lucy Silverfield.

The trio were spotted sharing a laugh and having coffee in between takes on Minshull Street in the town centre.
The drama features a family torn apart by the sudden disappearance of Cope’s sister, Camille, who vanished from a summer camp 20 years ago.
Now a top barrister and devoted single dad to daughter Cami, 10, he appears to have rebuilt his life.

But when the body of a man turns up, 20 years after he was supposedly murdered alongside Camille, Cope is convinced his sister may have may have escaped the woods alive too.
Determined to uncover the truth, he begins to search for answers, unearthing years of lies, cover-ups and family secrets that threatened to destroy everything he has built.
Keegan, who plays Lucy, Cope’s first love, said: “What’s really exciting for me as an actor is that Lucy is dealing with these deep, personal secrets.

“So I get to really explore her vulnerability and that emotional push and pull, which just makes the story feel so real and powerful.”
Produced in partnership with Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios, The Woods is a chilling mystery with a romantic core.
Author Coben said: “I think the themes, especially the long-lost love aspect between Paul and Lucy will resonate with readers.

Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed a release date yet for The Woods.
