Ahead of round 23 of Super League, we’ve made our predictions on how each game will go with the clear standout, as well as perhaps the hardest to call, being Thursday’s clash between Leeds Rhinos and Leigh Leopards.

Leeds solidified their spot atop Super League last week when they edged out second-place Wakefied Trinity, beating them 24-22 thanks to a late Chris Hankinson try. That scoreline was predicted by Sam Cook, albeit in favour of Wakefield, as Sam Brocksom fared the best with six out of seven correct results.

Looking ahead to this week and that Headingley clash is among the hardest to pick but it’s also one of three games on Thursday, with both Hull KR and Warrington having their games rescheduled so that they can face off next Tuesday.

KR host Catalans whilst Wire face off against York before Friday’s lone fixture sees a potentially coach-less Castleford travel to take on Hull FC.

There’s then another triple-header on Saturday as Wakefield welcome St Helens, Bradford Bulls host Wigan Warriors, before Huddersfield round off the round with an away trip to Toulouse. Our picks for all those games, as well as an update leaderboard, can be found below.

Hull KR v Catalans Dragons – Thursday, 13th August @ 8:00 pm

Peter Smith: Hull KR 50-6 Catalans

The Robins are in decent form and Catalans will need a huge improvement from last week’s embarrassment at Huddersfield just to make it competitive.

Sam Cook: Hull KR 44-10 Catalans

Willie Peters spoke passionately about his side’s defence after nilling Castleford last week but I don’t quite see that here, even if Catalans are woefully off the pace, but KR should still win handily.

Sam Brocksom: Hull KR 40-10 Catalans

Similar to last week against Castleford, the Robins should begin their run of three games in 10 days with relative ease.

Leeds Rhinos v Leigh Leopards – Thursday, 13th August @ 8:00 pm

PS: Leeds 30-12 Leigh

Leigh won the home fixture exactly six months ago and are capable of doing it again, especially if last week’s victory at Wakefield took a lot out of Leeds’ tank, but Rhinos have a 100 per cent record at Headingley this year and should have the edg

SC: Leeds 20-24 Leigh

If Leigh can take this late and stay in the game then they can certainly win this and re-animate local rivals Wigan’s League Leaders Shield hopes. They’ll have to be near perfect but such a performance has been brewing for the Leopards.

SB: Leeds 30-20 Leigh

Rhinos will want to keep their 100% Headingley record in tact, but Leigh need a big performance against a top side after poor showings against Wigan and Hull KR

Warrington Wolves v York Knights – Thursday, 13th August @ 8:00 pm

PS: Warrington 36-16 York

The visitors won’t roll over, but Warrington will be too good, especially if George Williams returns.

SC: Warrington 22-26 York

George Williams is set to be back but that will surely take time to click in the spine, meaning York could catch Warrington unaware. Losing to Leigh by just eight last week shows they’re capable of mixing it with big teams and they might just nick this one to spoil Williams’ return party.

SB: Warrington 28-18 York

George Williams is set to return this week, so that could cause some slight teething problems as he settles back into the groove. Wire still expected to win this one though.

Hull FC v Castleford Tigers – Friday, 14th August @ 8:00 pm

PS: Hull FC 40-10 Castleford

Hull had a good win last week and will be too strong for a Tigers side who are in turmoil on and off the pitch.

SC: Hull FC 22-16 Castleford

Two teams who are bang out of sorts but one is less bang out of sorts than the other. Likely to be packed with drama but lacking quality, a real shame this is the only Friday night game.

SB: Hull FC 30-16 Castleford

FC found form last week against St Helens, and will be looking to continue that as they return home.

Wakefield Trinity v St Helens – Saturday, 15th August @ 5:30 pm

PS: Wakefield 32-12 St Helens

It’s a must-win for Wakefield and they will do against injury-hit opponents with only pride to play for.

SC: Wakefield 44-16 St Helens

Trinity will bounce back after last week’s heartache against Leeds with their pack set to do major damage.

SB: Wakefield 36-12 St Helens

Trinity will be seething after that late loss to Leeds last week, and will want to make a statement against a woeful Saints outfit.

Bradford Bulls v Wigan Warriors – Saturday, 15th August @ 6.30 pm

PS: Bradford 6-50 Wigan

No chance of Wigan slipping up against a Bulls side low on troops and conceding too many points.

SC: Bradford 12-48 Wigan

Bradford are that light on bodies that Kurt Haggerty isn’t far off a call-up himself but the Bulls never give up. Wigan are also without Brad O’Neill and Sam Walters but it shouldn’t matter much.

SB: Bradford 4-42 Wigan

Going to predict the same score as last week for Bradford, with Wigan coming into this one in some good form, though they will be without star man Brad O’Neill.

Toulouse Olympique v Huddersfield Giants -Saturday, 15th August @ 8:00 pm

PS: Toulouse 30-20 Huddersfield

Giants are chasing a fourth successive win which could lift them off the foot of the table, but home advantage might swing it for the French side.

SC: Toulouse 28-32 Huddersfield

There’s something special going on at Huddersfield currently. Admittedly, they’re beating poor or underperforming teams but they have kicked on but this is a major test on the road, and one they could nick.

SB: Toulouse 24-28 Huddersfield

Arguably the hardest game to call this week, with Jim Lenihan facing his first trip to France as boss of the Giants
