Another NRL man could join Super League next season, with one off-contract hooker attracting interest from the northern hemisphere.
Gold Coast Titans hooker Sam Verrills will leave the club at the end of the season, and with little to no interest in Australia, he is on the radar of Super League clubs.
Reports from the Courier Mail in Australia have confirmed that one interested party is Catalans Dragons, who are in need of a new number nine given the exit of Alrix Da Costa to Hull FC and uncertainty over Kruise Leeming.
Leeming is only on loan at the Dragons, after a season-long switch was agreed as part of the deal to bring Oliver Partington back to the club.
Should the deal come to fruition, the Dragons will be raiding the NRL’s off-contract contingent once again, after already confirming the signings of Jesse Arthars and Tyson Gamble.
Hame Sele and Luciano Leilua have also reportedly joined the club, but no announcement has been made yet.
Verrills is a former NRL Grand Final winner, doing so with Sydney Roosters in 2019. He scored a try in that game, as he helped his side defeat Canberra Raiders 14-8.

He has made 116 first-grade appearances to date, with 48 of those coming for the Roosters and 68 coming for the Titans.
With Gold Coast seemingly preferring Ollie Pascoe at nine ahead of 2027, it leaves Verrills with no current contract, and John Cartwright’s Perpignan outfit could well be his next landing spot.
