Robert Pattinson returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman in the sequel alongside Jeffrey Wright as Lieutenant Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Jayme Lawson as Mayor Bella Reál.
Joining the cast are Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry and Charles Dance, with Barry Keoghan also expected to reprise his role as supervillain The Joker.
Filming is taking place at a number of locations in the city centre over a three-week period from August 18 at locations including Bothwell Street, Wellington Street, Glasgow Bridge, Broomielaw, Newton Street (under the Kingston Bridge), North Street, Pitt Street and the National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 75 along the River Clyde.

Earlier this week, The Herald reported how a number of colourful murals on pillars supporting the Kingston Bridge were being covered up in preparation for filming.
The Herald understands that the murals, which were painted in May as part of a project led by SWG3, will be reinstated once filming finishes, with the costs to do so being covered by The Batman: Part II production.
On Friday, The Herald spotted a large number of vehicles being used in the production in a car park off Broomielaw – including yellow US-style taxis.
Among the vehicles is a van for Gotham Water and Power – a fictional utility facility in Gotham City featured in Batman comics. Gotham Water & Power also featured in The Batman via in-world background lore and visual set dressing, such as on documents or background references tied to the city’s infrastructure and corruption.
Some of the vehicles appear to be covered in fake snow. In May, director Matt Reeves confirmed that the sequel is set during a freezing Gotham City winter, posting camera test photos showing the Batmobile driving through snow.

The Batman Part II is officially scheduled to be released in cinemas on February 18, 2028.
Speaking about the movie in September 2024, director Matt Reeves said: “It’s another mystery that’s going to dig into the epic story about deeper corruption and it goes into places that he couldn’t even anticipate in the first one. The seeds of where this goes are all in the first movie.”
Scenes for The Batman – which made over £650 million at the worldwide box office – were filmed in Glasgow in February of 2020, with the Necropolis and Glasgow Cathedral prominently featured in the movie’s final scenes.
Both Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson were highly complimentary of Glasgow’s “special Gotham” look in the first film, with the director hinting that the franchise could make a return to the city.
Reeves said: “One of the things that was really important, I wanted this to feel like a Gothic American city, but one that you’d never been to.

“And so the way to do that was to choose beautiful Gothic architecture and so we went to Glasgow and honestly it was so beautiful, I wish we could’ve filmed there more.
“I really think it’s a very special Gotham, I mean what a special place.”
And Pattinson added: “”It looks great as Gotham, who would’ve thought of all the cities in the world, Glasgow as Gotham? The final shots of the Glasgow skyline is beautiful.”
Last year Glasgow hosted several major productions, including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and JJ Abrams’ sci-fi fantasy movie The Great Beyond starring Glen Powell, Jenna Ortega, and Samuel L. Jackson.
