The singer-songwriter was spotted leaving Annabel’s in London last night, pairing a floral lilac mini dress by Delphine with her signature red lip and her shortest haircut in years. Although 2026 first saw a revival of long, flowing tresses, then countless bob trends in its place, now, it seems mid-length hairstyles are taking the spotlight for summer. The allure of a cut which is short enough to feel manageable and low-maintenance amid heatwaves, but equally preserves enough length to allow for versatile styling, is undeniable – not only for Swift, but the likes of Hailey Bieber, Kaia Gerber and Daisy Edgar-Jones, who have also co-signed the length this month.

Dani Caldeira, hairstylist at The Six Salon in Mayfair, previously told Bazaar that for women (such as Swift) who have worn their hair long for years, opting for a mid-length hairstyle creates a “modern shift while still feeling wearable”. For those seeking a simple, seasonal refresh without committing to a crop, mid-length is also one of the most adaptable choices, added Caldeira. “It works across different hair textures, can be styled in multiple ways and provides enough length for softness and movement.”
By removing excess weight at the ends, a midi cut lends the illusion of balance and enhanced volume in fine or thin hair. Meanwhile, thicker hair types can benefit from built-in fullness and a style which grows out seamlessly; adding Swift’s trademark full fringe further defines the eyes and facial features.
