Nine dolphins died at a West Kerry beach this week, after there was a scramble to save a washed up pod.
The Irish Examiner says tourists raised the alarm after spotting sixteen dolphins on the shore at Dúinín Head.
The Spanish family, along with some locals, helped return some of them to the water.
However nine dolphins, including calves, died on the beach.
They’re believed to have got stranded after swimming too close to the shore while hunting fish.
