A Scottish Borders golf club has revealed that its trophies were stolen in a break-in after its fundraising ‘Captain’s Charity Day’.
The Minto Golf Club in Hawick says that the incident occurred at about 22:45pm on the evening of Saturday, 16 August.
The club shared pictures of the aftermath of the break-in on Facebook.

In the post, it said: “We are devastated to share that our club was broken into after what was an amazing Captain’s Charity Day, with thieves stealing all of our trophies.
“These trophies are far more than pieces of silverware. They represent almost 100 years of history, achievements, friendships and treasured memories of generations of members.
“To see that history taken from our club is absolutely heartbreaking.”
The club has thanked Police Scotland for its ‘swift response and their efforts to investigate the incident’.
The club added: “We sincerely hope that these irreplaceable pieces of our club’s history can be returned.
“These trophies belong to our club, our members and our community. They are irreplaceable, and we desperately hope to see them come home!”
