Georgy Jamieson, who recently became the new breakfast co-host on Broadland Radio, said she felt “harassed and vulnerable” following comments directed at her online and via text messaging.
Ms James, who now presents the station’s breakfast show with Chris Skinner, said: “I have been forced to deactivate my Facebook because I feel harassed and vulnerable because of some of the comments on there.
“Added to that, we have received texts to the station, some of which are from some listeners known to us, and they were, quite frankly, sinister, unhinged and more than a little threatening.
“I’m just trying to do a job. Nothing more.
“There’s no agenda, there’s no conspiracy.
“I’m a wife, a daughter, a mother, an ordinary person with family and friends and feelings. Please respect that.”
She confirmed she was asked to step in for holiday cover on the show, which then led to a permanent offer.

It follows the recent departure of broadcaster Rob Chandler, who had previously presented the show.
Mr Chandler, who marks 47 years in radio this week, addressed listeners in a candid social media post.
He said it had been his own decision to leave the show and not that of the station, having initially gone away on holiday.
Mr Chandler had cited “demoralising” meetings as the reason behind his departure and said that the station was heading in a new direction.
Ms Jamieson has previously presented shows on BBC Radio Suffolk and Norfolk, as well as acting as a producer.
