As Aaron cosies up to Robert, viewers are worried that he’ll have to confess his whereabouts to John as one villager ends up in dangerRobert and AaronWill Aaron have to tell John what happened between himself and Robert?(Image: ITV)

Emmerdale fans have predicted that Aaron Dingle will be forced to out his affair with Robert Sugden as John Sugden makes an error.

Over the last few months, Aaron Dingle has found himself caught between his past and his present ever since Robert Sugden arrived back in the Dales after a six-year absence.

Aaron and Robert have been fondly named as “Robron” by fans who have been waiting for the couple to get back together upon Robert’s return after his stint in prison.

Unfortunately, John Sugden stole Aaron’s heart and the pair said “I do”, with Aaron trying his hardest to ignore his feelings for Robert.

John and Robert’s feud escalated in recent weeks, with John purposefully targeting Robert’s PTSD from prison in order to provoke a reaction out of his half-brother.

As Robert hit John with a wrench, it looked as though Aaron may never forgive his ex-husband in emotionally charged scenes.

With confirmation that Robert and Aaron spend a night together, fans think Aaron will be pushed to confess his deceit if the rumours are true regarding Mackenzie Boyd’s “exit”.

Rumours have started circling around on whether Mackenzie will be killed off in upcoming episodes – Emmerdale have not yet confirmed.

When asked about the “exit”, Lawrence responded: “Rumours they shall remain”.

He continued: “I’ve always said being in the show I never want to be too prescriptive with it. I’ve always enjoyed doing what I’m doing and ultimately if and when it’s time for Mack to leave, whether it’s mine or the producers choice, I’ll be thankful for the time that I’ve had.”

A recent trailer airing on ITV showed John Sugden questioning Mack with “I’m guessing you joined up the dots” before we see a terrified Mackenzie trying to escape and begging “please”. John holds a rock over his own head before he can be heard saying: “Guess I really am the bad guy”.

On a Reddit thread, u/Leather-Net7998 suggested: “Having seen the John v Mack trailer, I was wondering if anyone else thinks that after John has killed Mack, he’ll try and frame Robert?

“But what if, at the time of Mack’s death, Robert will have been with Aaron and so the only one who can save Robert from John’s convincing evidence, will be Aaron who’ll have forced to admit Robert was with him? This might not be the way it goes at all, but its a theory that crossed my mind. “

u/Lego_Panda_Bear replied: “I love it. And since it puts Aaron in an awkward, dramatic position it’s exactly the kind if thing the writers would do.”

However, u/MadOnMadden theorised: “I don’t think Mack dies – at least not next week. There’s supposed to be a “life-changing” storyline for Aaron AND Mack in September which a set has been specifically built for. I think John will have him captive, and he’ll take Aaron to the same place once the ONS (one-night stand) with Robert comes out.

“What happens after that, I have no idea, but I would like to see Mack survive it all. – Moira’s been through so much this year already, they can’t kill her brother too!”

Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7:30pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
