Super League recorded an average crowd attendance of just under 9,400 this weekend, with three ties breaking the 10,000 barrier.
The first game of the weekend set the benchmark in terms of attendance figures, with 16,847 fans turning up to watch Wigan Warriors defeat Hull KR 46-0.
Tributes were paid to Sir Billy Boston, who passed away at the age of 92 earlier in the week. The Warriors put on a special and fitting tribute to the iconic figure, who in 2025 became rugby league’s first-ever knight.
There were three games on Friday night, with St Helens v Leeds Rhinos hosting the most spectators with 11,558. Whilst Castleford Tigers didn’t reach five figures, the club did pass 9,000 spectators, which is what owner Martin Jepson said they needed to do in order to reach the next pillar on the IMG grading system.
On Saturday, 12,255 fans with a Hull FC and Warrington Wolves allegiance travelled to the MKM Stadium to witness a 14-16 victory for the away side. Retiring veteran Tom Briscoe had a stellar game in defeat, scoring a try and playing a big part in another to get his side back into the contest, but they were unable to take the points.
Victories also came of Wakefield Trinity and Toulouse Olympique, with Trinity hosting a crowd of 7,982 and Toulouse seeing 3,743 fans walk through the turnstiles.
In total, 65,796 fans turned up to games this weekend, making for an average crowd of 9,399.
