Quiet deadline day for Aston Villa?

Unai Emery has all but confirmed the signings of Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Ibrahim Mbaye, before stating that Aston Villa will not go into the market seeking any more recruits on deadline day.

“No, I think the squad we have now is how we planned and how we wanted,” he told Sky Sports.

Asked if he thinks Villa have replaced the quality they lost this summer, he said: “Yes.”

Harwood-Bellis was watching from the stands.

Wrexham accused of ‘blanket bombing’ amid Callum O’Hare interest

Chris Wilder has accused Wrexham of a “blanket bombing” approach to their transfer business late in the window after making an approach for Sheffield United’s Callum O’Hare.

“This is not a criticism, but Wrexham are in for half the division,” Wilder said.

“They’ve done business, it’s their prerogative and what they need to do.

“I know there have been bids on other players from that football club in that position as well, so maybe it’s a bit of blanket bombing in that position and see what comes up.

“It’s not a done deal, I’ve notified Cal to get his head down and get his head on and (focus on) playing for us on Tuesday night.

“If that changes, then that changes. But I know they’ve been in for a number of players, which is what they can do at this particular point of the window, and Callum is one of them.”

Sheffield United, meanwhile, are in talks to sign Coventry City defender Liam Kitching on loan.

Hull set for busy end to window

The good news (and some bad) is flowing in for Hull City at the moment regarding transfers.

Let’s start with the good – according to Sky Sports, the club have reached an agreement to sign Stuttgart’s Josha Vagnoman.

They also have a deal in place to sign Robinio Vaz with a medical planned, despite reports that it hit a stumbling block over Roma being unable to find a replacement.

Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, says Tim Iroegbunam is set to join from Everton.

Hull have also made a third bid for Stoke’s Sorba Thomas, according to the Daily Mail. An agreement is close to being reached that could see Liam Millar, the match-winner from the weekend, go the other way.

But according to BBC Sport, Hull’s move for Eintracht Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya has fallen through after the player decided against making the switch
