KATHMANDU: Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai met Baroness Winterton, the United Kingdom’s Minister for the Indo-Pacific, at the Ministry on Wednesday, with discussions focused on ongoing search, rescue and recovery efforts following the devastating Bhote Koshi River flood.
During the meeting, Minister Winterton conveyed her deepest condolences to the Nepal government and people of Nepal over the loss of lives and extensive destruction of property caused by the flood.
Secretary Rai thanked Minister Winterton for the UK government’s solidarity and its offer of assistance to Nepal for relief and post-disaster recovery.
Minister Winterton, who arrived in Kathmandu on Wednesday for a two-day visit, also signed the condolence book at the Ministry.
