A Jersey teenager born with a congenital limb deficiency has described taking part in the British Masters Pro-Am golf tournament as the “best trip” of his life.
Adam Dalton, who lives by the motto ‘no hands, no limits’, has underdeveloped arms, no hands and only the use of his left leg.
On 26 August the 21-year-old took part in the celebrity event at the Belfry, Sutton Coldfield, which acts as a curtain-raiser for the four-day British Masters.
Dalton was teamed with professional golfers Hennie du Plessis and Marcus Armitage and finished in third place overall. He said the pair “were so lovely and really intrigued with my game”.
Dalton first discovered golf while trying out many sports to see which he could enjoy playing without pain.
He found that it did not cause discomfort for his prosthetic leg, and has since the age of 16 been a member at the Royal Jersey Golf Club.
In July, he won the Cairns Cup, a disability golf tournament, as part of Team Europe, with the help of former Masters champion and European Ryder Cup captain Ian Woosnam.
