Coronation Street newcomer Ross Wilkes makes another enemy next week as he clashes with Kit Green at the Rovers Return.
Ross taunts Kit in front of onlookers at the pub – unaware that his target has just been diagnosed with cancer.

Next week’s episodes see Kit head to hospital for a follow-up appointment, as he’s recently been undergoing tests without telling anyone.
Kit is diagnosed with stage three breast cancer, which has already spread to his lymph nodes.
Although Kit chooses to confide in unlikely ally Todd Grimshaw, he decides that it’s best not to tell anyone else in Weatherfield for now.
During a visit to the pub, Kit accidentally collides with Ross, which causes drama as drinks spill.
Kit clutches his chest in pain, but Ross accuses him of overreacting. Stung by his harsh response, Kit loses his temper…

“Ross isn’t known for his sensitivity, so he’s probably the worst person who could have been involved in this mishap with Kit,” notes our source.
“Of course, Ross isn’t to know that Kit is unwell but it’s another example of him quickly resorting to anger when there’s a problem.
“Cassie knew what he was really capable of, before she left in suspicious circumstances. So as Ross provokes this row with Kit, is it only a matter of time before others start to see what he’s really like?”
Corrie bosses are working on Kit’s storyline with guidance from Macmillan Cancer Support and Breast Cancer Now. The issue-based plot, which aims to raise awareness of how breast cancer can affect men as well as women, begins in Monday’s episode (7 September).

Show producer Kate Brooks recently explained: “This diagnosis absolutely shakes the foundations of Kit’s life as he struggles to digest what this means not only for him, but also for his family and loved ones.
“Kit’s a complex character, and he struggles as he navigates this new world he’s been thrust into. His vulnerabilities become all too apparent as he wrestles with what this means to his sense of identity.
“Whilst male breast cancer is rare, it’s important that we show it can happen to anyone. We must normalise conversations around this to encourage people to consult their GP at the earliest opportunity if any changes arise.”
