Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Ever since Ryan Connor was used by Jodie Ramsey, it’s been a quiet time for the beloved character on Coronation Street. But following Thursday’s (3 September) episode of the ITV soap, some fans think he may have met a love interest.
The instalment saw Ryan speak with Bethany Platt, who was trying to get her own love life in order as she planned a date with Roman. The pair had a quick conversation, and their chemistry was palpable.

Though nothing has been officially confirmed, several fans speculated that the exchange could set up a potential storyline – and the majority were certainly happy that Ryan could be getting more screen time.
“Looks like Corrie are going to revisit Ryan and Bethany’s obvious attraction I’m all for it,” wrote one viewer on X, while another added: “Definitely here for this. Bethany deserves a good guy and Ryan is definitely that.”
One viewer also pointed out Bethany and Ryan’s shared history, writing: “Did anyone else see chemistry between Ryan & Bethany? Would they make a good couple, despite having already slept together in 2019.”
“Are they teasing a Ryan and Bethany romance? Or did I just read too much into that interaction?” asked another fan, while a fifth replied: “Well, if you did, then so did I. Definitely a spark in the hair salon.”
“What is going on here? I didn’t love Bethany & Ryan together before but maybe now would work? Definitely feels like they’re setting up for him to date someone soon. His outfits are so different now,” noted another fan.
One user echoed this sentiment, writing: “Loving Ryan’s hair & his new style! He looks so cool, also please let him and Bethany get together again. They are good together. Plus imagine the family scenes between the Platts & The Connor-Swains it would be gold!”

It remains to be seen if Ryan and Bethany will get together, but he may have to watch out, as actor Lucy Fallon – who plays the latter – has stated that her character won’t be too popular when her next storyline is developed.
“She does [have a big storyline coming up]. I can’t tell you what it is, but it’s not going to be great. I don’t think people are going to be happy about it,” teased the actor. “This one is low-key her fault. Everyone is going to be like, ‘She is a dick.'”
Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
