Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 0.5% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,124,871 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 53,559 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 37,422 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,145,397 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of about 0.7% compared to the previous day.
Electricity production from dam-based hydroelectricity plants accounted for around 21.1% of total generation, while imported coal and wind power plants contributed 19.6% and 15.9%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports totaled 22,182 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,342 megawatt-hours.
