Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors recorded a crowd of almost 20,000 in their match last night, and it was the travelling Warriors supporters who went home gleeful.

The Warriors strolled to the top of the table with a 40-8 victory over Brad Arthur’s side, with the Headingley faithful stunned at how outclassed their side were.

Heading into the game, it was billed to be the biggest game of the regular season, and rightly so, but ultimately the contest wasn’t as close as many hoped it would be, with Wigan simply too strong for a Leeds side who lost star man Lachie Miller in the opening minutes of the game.

A sold-out crowd of 19,698 were in attendance to watch the game – the biggest crowd at Headingley since the opening round of the 2020 season against Hull FC (per RugbyLeagueProject).

Elsewhere this week, Bradford Bulls played their final home game of 2026, hosting Castleford Tigers in a night of very tough conditions. They ended their first home campaign back in Super League with a 32-22 win, with full-back Caleb Aekins and prop Ebon Scurr the stand-outs.

Toulouse Olympique and Hull FC played out a game of two halves, with the home side racing to a 30-0 lead at half-time. FC managed to fight back and score 30 points of their own, but three second-half tries for the French side gave them yet another victory.

Both Hull KR and Leigh Leopards were victorious on Friday night, securing comfortable wins over Huddersfield Giants and St Helens respectively. The pair’s wins mean that both sides are now secure in the play-offs, though the question now remains: what order will they finish?

Hull KR also confirmed on Friday that their season average attendance sits at 11,541 – which is an increase on their 2025 average and is their highest-ever average in the Super League era.

Wakefield Trinity secured back-to-back wins with a victory over Warrington Wolves. Coming back from 14-6 down, a brace from the returning Isaiah Vagana gave them the lead, before Cam Scott’s try and Mason Lino’s drop goal secured them a 25-18 win.

York Knights were the final team to travel to Perpignan this season and, in their first trip to the Stade Gilbert Brutus, came away with the points as Paul Vaughan’s late try secured a 28-16 win for Mark Applegarth’s men.

As a result of the attendances in Round 26, it means that Super League has now recorded it’s highest-ever cumulative season attendance, and there is still one week to go! Confirmed before the Leeds v Wigan game, a total of 1,818,47 fans had entered through the gates this season, which is more than any other campaign in the competition’s 30-year history.
