Coronation Street spoilers follow from Monday’s episode (7 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet.
In tonight’s Coronation Street, the soap airs a special episode about Kit, whose world is turned upside down by a life-changing cancer diagnosis.
Elsewhere, Debbie celebrates her birthday in the Rovers and has a heartbreaking request for Abi.

1. Kit’s visitor leaves the flat

After an intriguing cliffhanger in the previous episode, someone sneaks out of the bedroom the next morning and lets themselves out of Kit’s flat.
Kit is sleeping on the sofa, and when he wakes up he looks guiltily at a photo of Sarah on his phone – feeling bad about what happened last night. Who did Kit have a romantic evening with?
2. Kit gets devastating news

Kit gets a shock at the hospital, as he discovers that an assault victim has suddenly died in hospital before he got a chance to question them about the brutal attack.
His day then gets even worse when he attends an appointment at hospital and the consultant confirms the life-changing news that he has stage three breast cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes.
3. Debbie celebrates her birthday

It’s Debbie’s birthday, and she holds a joyous party at the Rovers for the whole community. With the celebrations in full swing, Kit arrives at the pub and grabs a drink, ignoring the diagnosis he has just received.
Debbie makes a heartfelt speech in front of her loved ones, but when she pays an emotional tribute to her husband Ronnie, Kit gets overwhelmed and heads outside.
4. Kit reveals his secret

Todd is concerned about Kit, so follows him out to the backyard and asks if he is okay. Kit eventually blurts out the shocking news about his breast cancer.
Kit makes Todd promise that he won’t tell anyone about his illness and leaves the party – but another secret about Kit is then revealed to viewers…
5. Debbie makes a sad request

After her emotional speech, Debbie finds Abi in the bathroom and explains to her that she has already written her own eulogy.
Debbie asks Abi to record her reading her final goodbye when the time eventually comes, and Abi tearfully agrees to this request.
