Coronation Street‘s Jacob Roberts has unveiled a hair transformation as Kit Green’s new storyline begins. The character was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in last night’s episode, after experiencing some worrying symptoms.
Roberts appeared on ITV’s Lorraine this morning, looking a little different than usual. He explained that he had shaved his hair off, ahead of Kit’s upcoming chemotherapy scenes.
“This happened yesterday,” he said, pointing to his head. “We went down to a number two and then we shaved it completely off.”

Speaking about receiving the storyline, Roberts shared that he was “very grateful” to explore a more “personal” side to his character, adding that he wanted to “do a good job”.
“I think, the more I spoke to people with male breast cancer, the more I realised that it’s sort of a woman’s world, in a way. You know, it happens to both people but we don’t realise how much you can feel a bit emasculated,” he told host Lorraine Kelly.
“I’m hoping to get some awareness out. It’s a big killer as well, in the woman’s world so hopefully we can get it out to the males as well.”
The star also shared that fans will see a “different side to Kit” as the storyline progresses, hinting at a “more vulnerable stage” and “different layers” to his character development.

Elsewhere in the interview, Roberts addressed last night’s cliffhanger, in which it was revealed that Kit had slept with Bethany Platt, the daughter of his ex Sarah Platt.
He explained that he “doesn’t know where that’s come from”, and that he and Lucy Fallon (who plays Bethany) have been left to “pick up the pieces” of the plot twist.
“I’m tryna justify it but I can’t,” he laughed. “It doesn’t sound right, does it?”
