Blue Lights star Sian Brooke has updated fans on the state of season four of the hit police drama. First airing in 2023, the BBC show followed three probationary police officers of the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) and the officers who mentored them.
The second season followed the trainees a year later as they tackled a Loyalist feud in Belfast, while season three was set two years later and saw a conspiracy unveiled from a simple drug arrest.
Blue Lights has proved a huge hit among BBC viewers, and a fourth season of the show was confirmed way back in 2024 before the third had even aired.

Since then, updates have been few and far between, and while we have seen some teaser footage from the new episodes, we only have autumn as a guideline as to when we will be able to watch them.
But speaking to Digital Spy exclusively at the National Television Awards, Grace Ellis actor Sian said that it was “coming soon.”
“They put it on the BBC advert, so it’s definitely coming soon,” she continued.
The upcoming episodes will see the force tackle “their toughest shift yet”, with a synopsis teasing: “Three years into their jobs as response officers, Constables Grace Ellis (Siân Brooke), Tommy Foster (Nathan Braniff), and Annie Conlon (Katherine Devlin) are operating at their limit, facing a new threat on the streets that the police can barely control.
“Meanwhile, the murder trial of Gerry Cliff exposes a dangerous and long-buried secret that leads to chaos both inside the police and across the criminal underworld.

“As they grapple with big decisions about their future, Grace, Tommy and Annie must find the courage to face the greatest threat they have ever encountered: the truth.”
Other returning cast members for season four include Shane Bradley (Frank Blake), Stevie Neil (Martin McCann), Chief Inspector Helen McNally (Joanne Crawford) and Chief Superintendent Nicola Robinson (Andrea Irvine).
They will be joined by Andi Osho as Sandra Cliff, Abigail McGibbon as Tina McIntyre, Dearbháile McKinney as Aisling Byrne, Neil Keery as Sergeant Lawrence McCloskey and Jonathan Harden as disgraced Inspector ‘Jonty’ Johnson.
