Despite everyone raving over the newly announced iPhones this week, there isn’t too much for die-hard Android fans to look forward to in terms of announcements. Despite this, those wanting to upgrade their phone could take advantage of a ‘special offer’ while securing themselves a brand new Samsung Galaxy phone.
Currently, Argos is offering the Samsung Galaxy A17 4G at £139.99, down from £169.99, making it significantly cheaper than some of Samsung’s other flagships that can fetch a price tag of well over £1,000. For this low-cost offer, users have access to a phone that is equipped with a high-performing Super AMOLED display that can offer bright and clear colours for viewing content.
It also comes equipped with a 5,000mAh battery that should be more than enough for a full day of regular use. It also comes with a variety of features not often seen on cheaper phones, including a fingerprint scanner for better security.

For more sturdiness, the phone also comes equipped with Gorilla Glass 7, which should help to prevent cracks in the event of any accidental drops or bumps. This is paired with a triple rear camera setup, which is more than some of the latest, most expensive iPhones.
However, if you want something a little different but still affordable, you could opt for the Google Pixel 10a, which has been reduced from £499 to £359 on Amazon. This Google Pixel phone comes with guaranteed seven years of updates and a 30-hour battery life.
Otherwise, if you don’t mind trying an Apple product, you could opt for the iPhone 16e, which is available on Amazon for £499. This stands as one of the more affordable iPhones and comes with 128GB alongside a Super Retina XDR display.

Currently, the Samsung Galaxy A17 has earned a 4.6-star rating on Argos, with one happy shopper writing: “Love this phone, does everything I need for a very reasonable price.” Another added: “Great phone and great camera, love the display and also the battery life.”
A third said: “Love the quick charging after the time my old took. Good display area with quite a few features, certainly enough for an older person. The pale blue is a great choice and easy to distinguish from my husband’s when we’re together.”
A fourth added: “Bought in the sale, first phone for my 11-year-old going to high school. Samsung offer good parental support software. Does everything you need out of a phone. Battery seems to last well (one week in) . Easy to connect to headphones”

A fifth said: “A great phone. Easy to set up and a reasonable price compared to Apple!!” A sixth added: “Delighted with my Samsung A17 Battery is excellent. Getting used to not having to charge often and display is very clear. It feels solid and robust.”
However, one less pleased customer wrote: “This phone should only be used as a backup, as it is slower and less smooth than high-end Samsung models.”
Another added: “Not liking it very much. still trying to sort the different ringtones for the apps.”
