2026 Vuelta a España GC standings – Enric Mas limits his losses as Gall, Skelmose suffer on stage 18

Enric Mas (Movistar) has all but sealed the victory at the Vuelta a España after successfully defending his race lead on the final mountain stage 20 atop Collado del Alguacil.

In what was a celebration for Spain on the penultimate stage, Mikel Landa (Soudal-QuickStep) proved the strongest from the day’s breakaway to take the day’s victory.

Mas will carry the leader’s jersey into the finale stage 21 held in Granada on Sunday. He extended his overall race lead, now 2:15 ahead of runner-up Primož Roglič (Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe).

Meanwhile, a strong ride on the penultimate day saw Felix Gall (Decathlon CMA CGM) attack Roglič to cut the gap, although he remains in third overall; he is now only 2:44 back.

Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) also launched several attacks but remains in fourth place, 6:54 back.

Sepp Kuss (Visma-Lease a Bike) gained the most on the mountain stage, jumping up six spots and into fifth place overall. He is now 8:44 back.

Behind him, everyone slid one spot in the classification, with Oscar Onley (Netcompany Ineos) now in sixth place at 9:28, and Jakob Omrzel (Bahrain Victorious) in seventh at 10:38.

Clement Berthet (Groupama-FDJ United) is in eighth at 11:41, and Cristian Rodriguez (XDS Astana) in ninth at 11:49.

Harold Tejada (XDS Astana) continues to round out the top 10 at 14:40

The Vuelta a España will conclude with stage 21, a sprint-friendly finale in Grenada on Sunday.
