Long delays on M61 between Chorley and Horwich after multi-vehicle crash

Drivers are facing delays on part of the M61 after a crash involving multiple vehicles.

It happened at 06.09 BST and led to one lane on the southbound side of the motorway being blocked, National Highways said.

Traffic is still heavy between junction eight at Chorley, Lancashire, and junction six for Horwich, Bolton, Greater Manchester.

National Highways said there was around three miles of congestion between Limbrick and Grimeford Village, which is adding roughly 30 minutes onto journey times.
