Glyn Richards from Southampton is the inventor of game Fingagolf which received a £30,000 investment from Peter Jones on Dragons’ Den.

The inventor appeared on the TV show on Thursday, September 10 to pitch his creation where both Peter Jones and Stephen Bartlett became hooked after playing.

Glyn said: “Once they played it you only see a very brief thing there on the tele but in reality, they wouldn’t put it down.

“I knew then I had a good chance because if they played it and they liked it that’s the biggest thing.

“They got so into it I couldn’t get them to listen to my instructions.

“I was on for about 15 minutes on tele but I was there for maybe 45 minutes or even longer.

“When I look at the amount of stuff they cut out I thought that must be right but your adrenaline is going so fast it feels like 20 seconds.”

On the show Glyn also received offers from Touker Suleyman and Jenna Weeks though he says both Stephen Bartlett and Deborah Meaden would have made offers had Peter Jones’ offer not been so attractive.

He added: “I had gone in there knowing Peter Jones had loads of contacts in the golf world.

“Before going on the ideal scenario was Peter Jones with no more than 30 per cent so when he said I’m going to make you an offer no question it was amazing.”

After accepting Peter Jones’ offer for 30 per cent of the business for £30,000, Glyn said he has used to money to buy a larger stock order and has looked at expanding into a football and cricket game in a similar style.

He has also praised Peter Jones and his dedicated Dragons’ Den investment team who have helped him continue to expand including getting Fingagolf on Amazon where it is now the best-selling golf toy.
