The Barry Island-based team delivered a consistent and disciplined campaign, securing their spot near the top of the table through strong performances, improving partnerships, and a growing squad.
Richie Maiorano, men’s captain at Barry Athletic Tennis Club, said: “After a hard-fought season of doubles tennis in the heat, we’re proud to have finished second amongst some brilliant opposition and a group of really great guys across the league.
“We’re building our squad consistently and improving after every match.
“I’m proud to play with such a competitive group of players.”
While a couple of walkovers contributed to their points tally, the team’s success was largely the result of a committed playing style and steady progress throughout the season.

A standout moment came during a home victory against Caerphilly Tennis Club, where father-and-son duo Ed and Ewan Baker played together for the first time, delivering a composed performance that helped secure a crucial win.
The club has continued to expand its roster, welcoming new members and strengthening existing pairings.
Many matches were closely contested, often coming down to third-set tiebreaks, with the team showing resilience and steady improvement.

Barry Athletic Tennis Club remains open to new members of all abilities and continues to grow both its competitive and social tennis community.
Llantwit Major Tennis Club finished first in the division, followed by Barry Athletic Tennis Club, Carmarthen Tennis Club, Caerphilly Tennis Club, Cowbridge Tennis Club, and Whitchurch Tennis Club.
