Hull FC have announced the signing of former Hull KR winger Connor Barley for the 2027 season, with the 22-year-old becoming the Black and Whites’ eighth recruit ahead of the new campaign.
That’s more than any other Super League club has announced so far though Hull FC have also confirmed the departure of ten first-team players, including centre Arthur Romano, whose exit was announced earlier today.
Winger Barley will offer fresh depth in the outside backs alongside fellow recruits Jordan Swann and Junior Pauga, both of whom have signed from down under.
Barley’s move to Hull FC was reported by Serious About Rugby League earlier in the month with the winger one of three Goole Vikings players to sign Super League deals, with Hull-born Jeylan Hodgson another.
Both men had strong seasons at Goole but it was Barley who topped the scoring charts for the club, registering 20 tries in just 23 games for Scott Taylor’s side and he now follows Taylor, who has signed a coaching role with the club, to the MKM Stadium.

Barley debuted for Hull KR aged 17 in 2022 but he’d only make four senior appearances before joining Goole ahead of the 2026 season.

After an impressive year, he’s straight back into Super League and becomes the Black and Whites’ eighth signing after Bailey Hodgson, Daly Cherry-Evans, Isaac Liu, Alrix Da Costa, Jordan Swan, Joshua Coric, and Junior Pauga.
Speaking to hullfc.com about the move, Barley said: “I’m buzzing. I can’t wait to be back in that full-time environment – that’s something I’ve really missed this year.
“Looking back, I took being in a full-time environment for granted the first time around to be honest. So having that year away from a full-time environment really made me realise how much I do want it. Now I’m really looking forward to getting in there at FC and getting stuck in.”
On linking back up with Scott Taylor, he said: “A massive part of building my confidence back up this year was Tag [Scott Taylor]. When the opportunity came up, it was a no brainer to come to FC with Tag. Having a coach who instils so much belief into you can make you play ten times better than you actually think you can.”
Club chief executive Richie Myler added: “We’re pleased to make Connor our eighth addition for 2027 – he offers us size, power, and importantly depth in our outside-backs.
“Connor is a local lad who knows what it means to represent a club from this city. His try-scoring record this season is impressive, and we’re excited to see him make the step-back up to Super League after an important year of development.”
