York Knights have confirmed that loanee David Nofoaluma will sign a permanent deal at the North Yorkshire club for the 2027 season.

The Samoan international joined the Knights on loan from Newcastle Thunder, spending the majority of the season in Super League and racking up an impressive 15 tries in the competition across his 21 appearances.

After announcing a permanent deal for playmaker Cody Hunter, who also arrived from Newcastle, the Knights have moved to sign Nofoaluma to a two-year deal that will keep him at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

A former NRL standout, Nofoaluma joined Salford Red Devils and made two appearances in 2024 before moving to France and then Halifax, ahead of his 2026 switch to Newcastle.

That would see him land the loan move to Super League and a second crack at Super League, which it’s fair to say went far better than his first stint.
