A win at Lincoln this afternoon would put Swansea City on 17 points from their opening eight games – matching their best start to a league season in 21 years.
It would equal the return from the Covid-disrupted 2019-20 campaign under Steve Cooper.
Victory today would also surpass the six wins from eight managed by the late Kenny Jackett’s side in League One in 2005-06.
While a flying start signals serious intent, fans will be hoping for a different twist under Vitor Matos, as both those campaigns ended in play-off defeats.
As for Lincoln, they return to the comforts of home following a fruitful away-day double header, having edged out both Preston North End and Bristol City since last playing in front of their own supporters.
Considered by many to be relegation candidates before a ball was even kicked, the Imps – under the dual management of Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw – have gone five unbeaten and currently sit on the edge of the play-offs, having shown signs they are quickly getting to grips with this level.
