Lauren Walsh will be the leading Irish player heading into the final round of weather-disrupted La Sella Open in Spain on Sunday.
Poor weather on Friday had seen disruption to the second round, and further thundery rain today led organisers to take the decision to reduce the event to a 54-hole tournament.
Walsh played the final two holes of her second round this morning, picking up a birdie on 18 and signing for a 73 to finish on two under par.
Charlotte Heath has a healthy lead heading into the third and final round after hitting a 65, including an eagle on the 12th, to move to 11 under par; that’s four strokes clear of the chasing pack.
Aine Donegan was in a battle to make the final round overnight, with six holes of her second round left to play.
But the Clare woman found two birdies to get to level par and a tie for 25th.
Sara Byrne is a shot further back on one over par having managed to complete her round before the worst of the weather arrived.
