Super League 2026 is at the sharp end of the competition with the play-offs underway but the stats across the regular season have shown major growth across the board, including one key record being broken.
The record in question is the largest cumulative attendance across an entire season with the 27 rounds seeing 1,894,082 fans attend, the most across any Super League season.
That figure was bolstered by a record-breaking Magic Weekend with 82,925 in attendance, whilst Rivals Round and Rivals Returns draw in over 160,000 across those two weekends. In total, 11 rounds across the 27 games drew more than 70,000 fans at an average of greater than 10,000 per game.
The play-offs have also started strong will a sold-out DIY Kitchens Stadium on Friday night and more than 10,000 locked in for Warrington’s clash with Hull KR, meaning Super League is well on track to surpass 2,000,000 fans across the entire season for the first time ever.

Whilst attendances stand out, plenty of other metrics showcase why 2026 has been a successful year for Super League, with much of those figures being related to social media.
Across the 2026 season, Super League generated:

Such engagement can expand the sport to new fans and what is not to like, with Super League averaging 55% ball-in-play time, the most across any major rivals in the UK.
Speaking on the impressive figures, managing director of RL Commercial, Rhodri Jones, said: “The 2026 Betfred Super League regular season has not disappointed as the statistics show.
“And we are not finished yet with a mouth-watering Play-Off Series ahead, culminating with the Grand Final at Old Trafford on October 3, which promises to be one of the biggest nights in the sporting calendar.
“By that point, we will have surpassed two million attendees through the season for the first time in the competition’s history, another sign that Super League is going from strength to strength.”
