It was only six years ago that Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan stepped down from their senior positions as royals and moved their family across the world to Montecito, California. Now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are back in the U.K. for an extended period of time, and from the look of things, it seems they are enjoying their new era.
In the month since they’ve been back, Harry has already made his first big public appearance, getting all dressed up for the inaugural Invictus Spirit Awards, which were held at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. (And he’s stepped out several times since.) Meghan, meanwhile, has kept a more low profile. She was seen mingling with Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, at a pub in Oxfordshire just this past Monday, but otherwise, the only glimpses we’d gotten of her time in England had come courtesy of a compilation video that she shared to Instagram.
That is, until Meghan’s close friend Kelly McKee Zajfen, shared a slideshow of photos this afternoon on Instagram, which captured the duchess living her best British life. The caption even noted that Meghan has “missed” life in the U.K. (Check out all the photos here.)
“There’s something so special about getting a taste of this magical place with my bestie, and having my sweet Jack along for the adventure,” Zajfen wrote. (Jack is the philanthropist’s third child, whom she welcomed earlier this year.)
Zajfen is based in Los Angeles, but flew over to England to visit Meghan and Harry in their temporary new home. She summarized the experience by writing: “🇬🇧 you’ve been so good to us. We’re leaving with full hearts and definitely leaving a piece of ours here. 🤍”
Plus, she added that locals have been very sweet to Meghan upon her return, writing: “To everyone we’ve met or bumped into, thank you for being so loving to my friend 🥹 It’s been beautiful to witness. She missed you too!”
Meghan and Zajfen have been friends for over 20 years, and they first met through the former’s ex-husband, Trevor Engelson, who is a friend of Zajfen’s spouse, Julian.
Zajfen co-founded the Alliance of Moms, a non-profit organization that aids pregnant women and young mothers in the foster care system. Over the years, Meghan has been an active supporter of the organization, and Zajfen has been a supporter of the duchess’s projects as well, having even made an appearance in With Love, Meghan in 2025.
