We have some great news for Crew Girl fans, as the show has been given an exciting update on its future. The Canadian teen drama debuted on Netflix earlier this month, and has proved very popular.
The eight-part show currently sits in the #6 position in the streamer’s UK Top 10 chart, and in the wake of its success, the company has confirmed that it will be back for a second season.
“I am beyond excited for Crew Girl Season 2!” said lead star Miku Martineau (via Tudum). “There’s so much left to explore with the characters, the romances, and the rowing team — it’s going to be a ride for sure!”

“All I know is that it will definitely be a packed, juicy, drama-filled second season, so I’m ready to get back in a boat and on camera! #Teamteagan,” added the star, who also featured in The Miniature Wife.
Crew Girl follows Martineau’s character Teagan Tao, a teenager who relocates to the US East Coast with her mother in the wake of a family scandal. A rowing star, she discovers that her new school has no team, and subsequently joins the boys’ crew as a coxswain.
There, she sparks “rivalry and attraction” among the team, including being torn between the affection of both Josh Regis (Samuel Braun) and Cam Dillinger (Kyle Clark).
Teasing where the new episodes could go, Braun proposed: “I think we should go on summer break or something, get lost in the woods. It’d be really fun to do a summer bash and be on the lake boat and see what their life is [like] outside of rowing too.”

Clark, meanwhile, suggested a new sport altogether for his character, adding: “We really want to step it up. I would love to try single sculling.”
Martineau also teased Teagan getting to row again, especially with a girls’ team possibly on the way, saying: “It’s going to be interesting to watch. She has such an attachment to the boys’ team, but she’s also in pursuit of her own rowing career.”
