Consumers can now file for money back on certain generic medications after settlements were reached with several drug manufacturers accused of conspiring to inflate prices, Ohio Attorney General Andy Wilson announced in a release.

Included medications were bought between May 2009 and December 2019, and include generic versions of various prescription and over-the-counter medicines such as antibiotics, high blood pressure medications, birth control and diabetes medications.

A full, searchable list of included medicines is available on www.AGGenericDrugs.com, the attorney general said, or consumers can call 1-866-290-0182 or email info@AGGenericDrugs.com to determine eligibility, the release said.

This settlement came out of a coalition of states pursuing antitrust cases against generic drug manufacturers since 2016, the release said, where the states said the companies and their executives worked together to reduce competition and raise prices for various generic drugs.

The current settlement payments come from drug companies Glenmark, Lannett, Bausch, Apotex, Heritage and Emcure, Heritage’s parent company. The U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut approved a preliminary plan this month to distribute $96.5 million in settlement funds.

Lawsuits continue against a lengthy list of drug manufacturers, according to the drug settlement website.

“If you paid too much for certain generic drugs, you may be entitled to money back,” said Wilson. “Check your eligibility and get what you’re owed.”
