The 2026 Super League Grand Final is set to be the best-attended in almost a decade, and could well eclipse that, with over 70,000 fans expected to turn out at Old Trafford.
Warrington Wolves will face Wakefield Trinity on Saturday evening at Old Trafford meaning that we will have a new Super League Grand Final winner for the second time in two years.
After waiting over 20 years for a fifth winner to be confirmed, the sport will now have two different new winners in two years, with this year’s showpiece event a historic one for many reasons.
It’s the first-ever Super League Grand Final that does not feature any of Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors or St Helens, whilst it’s also only the second time that neither of the top two on the league table feature at Old Trafford.
The last and only time that happened was in 2011 when fifth-placed Leeds Rhinos beat third-place St Helens, but this year pits third versus fourth against one another.
It’s also the first time Warrington have made a Grand Final since 2018 and the first time ever that Wakefield have made it to the big dance, and that has helped create huge demand for tickets.

Super League Grand Final to beak 70,000 ticket barrier
RL Commercial have confirmed that ticket sales are expected to surpass 70,000 for Saturday’s showdown, the first time that milestone has been hit since 2017 when there was another new team at Old Trafford in Castleford Tigers.
Daryl Powell coached the Tigers that day and he’ll be in charge of Wakefield on Saturday, where there could well be more than that 2017 attendance of 72,827.
Whatever happens, the crowd will certainly be up from last year’s 68,853 – which was the most since 2017, but if Super League does surpass 70,000 then it will mark just the ninth time that the match has broken that figure.
It will also ensure that Super League 2026 goes past 2,000,000 fans in attendance across the whole season and for those fans who don’t have tickets yet, all that remains available are tickets in the very highest tiers at the stadium.
Only Category 5 tickets remain 🎟️
