Tributes have been paid to a “well-loved” member of staff at a Sheffield branch of McDonald’s, following his death aged 41.
Craig Baker, who had worked at McDonald’s in Meadowhall for more than 20 years, died on Sunday, his family confirmed.
Tributes have flooded in on social media for the front-of-house team member, who was highly commended in the True Star category at Meadowhall’s annual awards last year.
A Meadowhall spokesperson said: “Everyone at Meadowhall is sorry to hear of the loss of Craig, a well-loved member of the McDonald’s team. Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with his family, friends and colleagues.”
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield last year, Craig said working at Meadowhall McDonald’s for 23 years had been “an amazing experience”.
“I just talk to people, it’s a laugh and it’s just a fun place to work,” he said.
“My philosophy is just ‘have fun at work’ and that’s what I do.”
A Reddit thread paying tribute to Craig was titled “Rest in Power”, with hundreds of people also commenting on a Facebook post paying tribute to him.
Many called for a permanent tribute to Craig, with one person describing him as a “bright light”.
